I suppose that the case where no image support is wanted does need to be
supported.

What happens if you delete the local image libs, BTW?
Could that be used to cause fltk to build without image support? (i.e.
delete the local libs then try and enable them... Seems like an obscure
way to get a desired result, mind you!)
