I won't be available as a mentor (sorry, this would be too time 
consuming for me), but I'd help whenever I can.  If it's a mailing
list, that's okay for me.  But this would probably also mean to test
and comment the student's code, and I can't guarantee that I would
find the time to do such things.

Sounds all reasonable, but as Ian wrote, I can't estimate what would be
realistic goals.

Also, how many students do you think of?
