OK, first off, be assured that threaded code compiled on one version of
Windows does (usually!) work on other versions.
I have threaded code compiled on Vista that runs just fine on XP, and
that should be very similar to your test case.

On the other hand, it is very easy, with threads, to make little errors
that can blow up depending on differing memory policies or even simple
timing differences, so there may well be something in your code that's
stumbling over this...

Can you maybe post a very small, compileable, example that illustrates
what you are actually doing, so we can take a look and see where things
might be going awry?
