I'd say yes to that - the gains outweigh the losses.

I *think* this is OK - I have bits of it in my utf8 hack build and it

FWIW, the fltk2 behaviour seems "correct", so if you can spot what the
difference is...

I probably shouldn't vote for my own patches...

Anyway, I believe the patches are good, but I'm not sure which ones we'd
want to take.
However, I'd suggest that patch1 and patch2 should be used as a minimum.


Patch3 and patch4 (Aaron's fix to my bug in patch3!) are less
immediately useful, but do work correctly and add some additional
utility.
