Wireless? Nah... This is a USB link, unless I don't grok something you said. BTW, digikam 0.8.2 has the same problem as flphoto 1.2 with libgphoto2 version 2.2.1. I guess this means there might be some commonality with libgphoto2. I see that speed of download might have improved in libgphoto2 2.3.0 and in libgphoto 2.4.0 they added the USB ID of this camera... but other than that, the release notes do not seem to address this issue directly. Maybe gtkam does its camera operations faster than flphoto or digikam, because I notice the camera will also power down for gtkam, but only if you do not access picture data reasonably quickly after the user gets access to the list of files and thumbnails. As this system is a 64-bit Core Duo 3.6 GHz processor with 3 GB RAM, maybe I am just lucky gtkam works if it is indeed a speed issue. flphoto seems to take a long time talking to the camera and chewing up the data compared to gtkam, but I haven't timed stuff at all. -- Kevin R.
