Hmm, I was going to ask what platform you are on, and say that I find
the win32 chooser does seem to block events, but I infer that you are on
OSX, so that's not going to be relevant.

My latest box is 10.4.11, so may not be the same... Time permitting,
I'll give it a try, but I don't have anything with GL and the native
file chooser, so I'll need to hack something up. Don't hold your breath
whilst waiting...
