It is not obvious, from what you have posted, why it does not work - can you post a more complete example, showing the headers and so forth. I'd have to guess what else you have in there, to make what you posted into a compileable example, and in doing so I might inadvertently fix whatever the problem is... Are you trying this on your local PC, or on your target? I'd suggest you get it working on your host PC first, then move to the target, of course.
