Shon - I should probably say that I'm not sure that switching to 1.3 will directly address your problem, but it should mean there are more eyes on it... On the other hand, for a while I did maintain a code base that had fltk-1.1 and fltk-2 variants, and the API's did still (at that point) have a fait bit in common, such that most of the changes from one to the other could be done using sed...
