I'm seeing the same problem in fltk-1.3.x-r7100.

I was using fltk-1.3.x-r7063 because that is the latest version that 
actually fully compiles, all the new versions fail when building fluid 
among other things (but obviously I was able to compile the pack example).

This is on Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit.
