Actually, it's come up before (hence the bold text above,
not actually directed at you ;) but to all the FLTK'ers
here who often find themselves giving advice to people
with the book.
I myself had that perception based on those error messages
I'd seen in those threads.
But looking at the actual examples, I'm happy to see
the book is not about 2.x, it just provides a lib of its own
widget library (called "GUI") that happens to have Widget
and Window classes that the examples refer to, but are actually
implemented in 1.x.

Sure.
Let's see how it shakes out with eric first, as I see he's
still having trouble, but maybe getting closer with Albrecht's
