I'd vote to release 1.3.0 anyway, and then fix this in slow-time. The
release will probably trigger a flood of new bug-reports anyway...
Looks like Roman has a (at least partial) workaround for this that might
alleviate the majority of issues, so we can roll that into 1.3.1 or
whatever comes next.
