Cairo support on OS X is untested and likely will not work. It is not really needed either because FLTK on OS X already draws antialiased fonts and lines.
FLTK 1.3 is the correct version for OS X. FLTK 3 will also work, but the API will still go through changes. FLTK 2 and FLTK 1.2 and earlier will not work correctly on current OS X!
