Good question Dana. I guess this started out by my question of what people thought about removing it. For me the reasons would be the following:
Be more consistent with the treatment of our other logos We could easily use plain text to create the logo (which would allow for transformations and etc, as well as make it easier to use). Also I'm honestly not sure what the "*" is supposed to mean. I may have just forgotten. I don't think we should make the change without discussing it first, so I'm glad you brought up the question.
