Aspects of interest for a number of projects the IDRC is working on in
particular (MyL3, SJRK).

Positive impression: the child of the founder is credited as the “Product
Testing Lead” (https://brili.com/team/); I think that’s pretty cool from a
co-design perspective

Negative impression – big data surveillance culture seems kinda embedded in the
product (I believe this quite common with these kinds of parental apps),
conflation of parental oversight with big-data analysis: “What’s great is that
kids get to take ownership of the app, responding to prompts when they need to
commit to eating breakfast, or doing chores, and benefitting at the end when
excess minutes are added on to the free time… What’s more, the platform also
uses IBM’s Cloud to let parents see their kids activity in real-time,
empowering parents to feel a greater sense of patience and control around their
child’s progress.”
