Hi Tim, I'm thinking this is probably intentional behavior on my part. whether it's 'correct' or not is probably debatable.
What I think is happening is that you are clicking a link that is targeted to a new window using HTML target="_new" or target="_blank" attribute. that normally causes the link to open in a new foreground window. I'm guessing you have the following preference activated: Preferences -> Behavior -> Sites spawning new windows open new tabs instead that is causing the new foreground window to be a new foreground tab instead. however, in this case, i am still respecting the web developer's intention to open the link in the foreground over your preference to open new tabs in the background. only when you command-click (or ctrl-click and choose 'open link in new tab') is the other preference for selecting tabs when created respected. hrm. how does firefox handle this? td On Sat, Dec 26, 2009 at 2:10 AM, Tim <[email protected]> wrote: > To clarify here: Command clicking on a link *does* open it in a new > tab without stealing focus.
