Well, I can't give a full trans, but it's the Turkish government wanting to
eradicate the use of the letters "P" and "K" in algebraic equations (where
they would stand for quantities) and use others, because these letters
would make children think of the the PKK, the Kurdish Workers' Party (the
Fr trans of PKK in this article--)
It goes on to describe this attempt as perhaps ludicrous, but then details
another instance that's even odder--in provinces with Kurdish population,
the Turkish government is replacing the green lights in traffic signals
with blue ones, because green, yellow, and red are the colors of the
Kurdish flag.
Pardon my incomplete French--
