for those interested in cage recordings: i just bought a hessishen rundfunk
recording (wergo 66362) with malcolm goldstein and matthias kaul which is
very nice. great version of 'ryoanji.'
sonic youth has also done a very good thing with their 'goodbye 20th
century' double cd. it includes works by cage, james tenney, maciunas,
takehisa kosugi, christian wolff, yoko ono and others. i reccommend the cd
highly, but if you need more convincing see my review in march's
Musicworks magazine later this year.
