of course, thank you - i remembered this page after i sent my email. i
should say that i am specifically interested in scores which actually have
a sonic component, such as some of maciunas' pieces. his piano piece #13
(the one on the sonic youth cd) isn't on the above page for instance.

!!!!!!!!!!also, anyone with richard maxfield scores: please contact
me!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for your good help sol, i'll check out that higgins book fo sure.

well, i'd rather not list names - in fact i don't remember all of the
names. but the playing with matches curator for toronto was there, the
power plant gallery director, an academic, a semi-famous local
composer/artist, and a muchmusic vj. the academic was the only guy who was
at ease with the history of fluxus and related art, and even he said
something to the effect that 'the avant garde is rock and roll'. there are
people in this town who really could have said some interesting things, but
they were not included, probably they were just not thought of. the vj
didn't even know what fluxus was, she just demoed a bunch of songs she's
been working on. someone probably told her that fluxus today is about
sampling or something. then a rapper got up on stage and did some hip hop.
i like hip hop, but it's no longer anything close to fringe performance
art. the panel was the result of carelessness: only the one guy seemed to
give a shit about art, the rest were schmoozing.
