I think the term was coined by Dick Higgins. I know he wrote an
Exemplativist Manifesto (late 70s?) but I've not read it. I believe the term
is to do with feeling that an artwork (or anything creative I suppose) is
just an example of something rather than the thing itself. I may have got
this slightly wrong so would the Higgins scholars please correct me if
necessary.
Now I think that Don's twelve features are the 12 aspects of Fluxus as
defined by Dick Higgins and refined by Ken Friedman.........
Am I right Don or have you taken some of those 12 to combine with others?
I'm dead curious now.
