hey fluxlisters, i'm going to be heading-up a toronto based group called ALARM (Altered Listening And Radical Music) to promote really unusual work, mostly new and sometimes old. among our goals in 2000 will be a full-length performance of Vexations, and a bizarre tribute to Bach by some very unusual local composers. eventually we will be performing some fluxus pieces as well, and you will all be invited to send scores. i need a logo. if anyone would be interested in trying a few things i would love to see what you come up with. i can't pay you in advance, but if i end up using your work i'll scrape up a modest honorarium after we make some money (door revenue or grants etc), or i can give you a handwritten score of something of mine, or a mug score when they are made etc. i'd really like something that conflates a pinna/auricle (the external ear) with a bell or bell clapper, however i also love a surprise! anyone interested?
