Don't know about MOMA, but the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) here in
L.A. included some vivid leftovers of the Viennese Actionists' cow-hacking
in their survey of "action art" a couple years ago. One particularly
memorable piece from that show was the French guy who canned his own feces
and sold it as "artist's shit," with the price fixed to the price of gold. I
also remember a bit about somebody getting themselves shot as art; it was
probably Chris Burden. The guy who put himself in a self-constructed prison
cell and punched a time clock every hour for a year seemed to have crossed a
line from art over to clinical insanity.

Of course, the weird thing about doing an after-the-fact museum exhibition
of action art is that you're just left with the physical remains,
photographs, and a description of the art, not the art itself.
