I wrote about this allready in another mail. I got it in another maillist
and people, much more knowledgable that me, were making jokes, I thought
it was just another version of the "Love letter signature" where anti viri
robots produced a lot of absolutely wrong alarm, maybe a topic for this
list.
Hope that you did inform the people who you sent mails, with the virus, if
this isnt to late.
Its a pain with MS, that the "Visual Basic scripting host" is open.
You can delete this dangerous piece of software completely, in most cases
not needed anyway.
I fear that you cannot retrieve your mp3s etc. I had a similar experience
with a brand new seagate scsi hd. Just after I had moved 1 GB of files to
it, it went nirvana. One year of musicmaking etc was gone, only very few
things on floppies.
First thing I would do is to remove this "scripting host", dont know how
this control panel is called in english, but it is in the
"software" panel, where you can install and deinstall additional parts of
the "system software". Please do it at once. This is to dangerous.
