The deYoung Museum in San Franciso closed its doors on January 1, 2001. The museum is not earthquakeproof and therefore will be demolished. A venerable beauty of architechture and a tribute to San Francisco, the Director kept the museum open all night on New Years Eve, expecting, at best, several hundred visitors....the visitors in reality numbered in the thousands. I was one of the visitors on the last day....it was lovely. I do so wish it could still stand. A new structure will be built, but it doesn't seem the same. Couldn't find much on the internet, so here's some views. http://www.geocities.com/pk_harris/deYoung.html
