Sorry for the previous somewhat grumpy post. Really I'm not rabid on this
subject. If you folks want an excellent guide to always nontoxic and usually
simple (and often amusing) pest control (snails, beetles, etc), a friend of mine
has written an excellent little manual called "Slug Bread and Beheaded
Thistles." It's on Doubleday, I think (one a those that Random House ate,
anyway) and pretty cheap. Available on Amazon etc. as well as bookstores
everywhere. Author Ellen Sandbeck, an artist and worm breeder (you know, red
wrigglers, composting worms), writer, bat wrangler, etc.

Myself, I used to always grow pole beans and tomatoes, cause they're easy. But
now I have a share in a local farm and boy is that easy.
