Hi, my helleborous plants will have seeds in awhile. (from beautiful
Lenten rose plants I have had for years) AND, because I have a kind,
generous heart and hate to see people suffer, in my humble opinion, it
makes me wonder if the first four letters in helleborous might not spell
a word which might describe what it is like to grow these plants from
seed! >>>grin<<< I tried and failed growing them from seed. I believe
in my readings, it takes one to two years to germinate??? They are
contrary plants that prefer mostly full shade and HATE to be moved and
punish you by pouting for a long time after they are moved. If you
decide that you want to grow them, figure out where you want them to be
for the rest of their lives.

NOW, all that said, I can assure you that if you want to grow them, you
will never be sorry. In the dead of winter, when all your gardening and
seed catalogs arrive, you are chomping at the bit for spring AND you
have just survived another vicious ice storm that has brought down
ancient trees, when you go out walking past the shadiest garden area
about noon, there are growing the most exquisite dark green plants with
delicate pink and cream flowers. Heaven!

I LOVE growing things from seed, I assure you, but why wait eons for a
helleborous plant? It's worth the cash to buy a few plants and wait
until they get big enough to produce blossoms just for the sheer joy of
such beauty in the dead of winter. However, if you are helleborous-bent
on growing them from seed and have the patience of Job, I will save some
seeds for you with blessings. Let me know
