Hey Rod,
See you and Sharon flew back okay (bet your wings are sore ;-)
>The "Lost Map" of Kathy Prendergast (a grand idea, but not
taken to it's full potential) was a turning point (so to
speak) and, yes, Roger was a "lost" cause to us for a while
there, but the comment about us standing around wondering
is not completely correct - I went searching for him twice
in the bathroom: once, just looking and the second time
actually calling his name amongst the loos (English:
"toilet" and Dutch: "void" - both appropriate}.<
The thing is that discussion of Toilet searches, even when art is involved,
may be considered socially unacceptable in certain walks of life.
>I'll send pictures to you Sol as soon as possible (this
weekend?). I have to dink around with installing a USB
driver and "practice" downloading kitty pictures from the
8MB stick. I don't want to lose all 208 vacation pics/vids
in a fell-swoop(!)<
Okay, looking forward....
>* "Sonic Graphics - Seeing Sound" (Sol, you'd probably like
this: the fusion of music/sound with graphics) bought at
the London V&A ^also^ for 15 pounds(!)<
I have this, although it cost me more than 15 and in many ways I feel you
as a tourist should be paying the extra ;), wonderful publication,
thoroughly recommended to anyone interested in consideration of many ways of
visualising sound although I felt a few more graphic scores could have been
included.
On this note I just got the new edition(well newer than the other one I'd
been using) of Trevor Wishart's "On Sonic Art", it's sooo much clearer to
read than the old typewritten edition(maybe you've seen this?) also great CD
of examples to accompany each chapter of discussion.....also, best of all
this edition has an index!!!!
>
Anyway, great sights, great weather ('cept for the 86F in
London bit), great food, and wonderful people. <
Glad you had a good time. I've been working on a few related things which
shall go to the web in due course.
Captain Firestar salutes you!!
cheers,
Sol.
