Hi all,

I'd heard the list of prohibited songs was actually a hoax (or, it was meant to
be serios, but then people raised hell & now they're saying it was a joke)

On the University's radio station here, one of the DJs (whose uncle was one of
the firefighters killed in the WTC collapse) played a set of music that's helped
him through this past couple of weeks. He also took requests from other people
who'd had certain songs help them through. One of the most astonishing ones I
heard was The Smiths "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" I'd never heard
this Smiths song before, but it was very beautiful and relevant to the way this
person has been feeling in the wake of the tragedy. It is certainly not
cheerful or optimistic in a conventional sense, and some might even find it
offensive, but the point is, it helped this individual feel strong & it also put
some of my own feelings of love and loss into context.

Keep listening to things that comfort you and give you strength.

xxxx
Robin
