Lists of songs not to be played (and videos) ARE distributed by radio
stations
and TV stations after any great tragedy or disaster. (Certainly in the UK
and so I would think in the USA too)
I don't really think it's there's anything wrong with that.
If you've just lost someone in a plane crash, for example, and then a song
comes on the radio about crashing planes - it could be very upsetting.
It's no big deal to not play certain songs for a few days.
Mind you, I did think some of the songs in Scott's list were a bit
over the top.
