a year and a half ago a friend of mine inadvertently threw a lit
firecracker a little too close to my ear....
(pop)
and since that time certain noises sound unpleasantly distorted in my
right ear
(making life a tad more annoying, being one who works with sound)
while there was no significant hearing loss, it has been a source of
strife for me
and i have been, perhaps, a bit obsessed with it......
(i can't even play my tuba without things getting all distorted.....!)
wah wah wah
yes

awhile after the incident he presented me with a canister
in which were the remains of several exploded firecrackers

the canister (about a foot and a half deep, and perhaps a foot in
circumference) had sat ignored for a long time
when i was overcome with the urge to cover the exploded firecrackers with
ears......filling the canister
being that cutting my own ears off and stealing the ears of others is
impractical, gruesome, and just not very nice....
i opted to fill it with ear related things, things that resemble ears,
things about ears, pictures of ears etc.
(david, thanks for the stories! they've already been printed out and
added, same for john's radioactive ear, thanks!)
when the canister is finally full, i intend to give it back to the person
whom gave it to me and the first place
(i will also, most likely, document the entire project on the web)
and we'll see what he decides to do with it.........

woot!
