That's a rather small drop in a vast sea of Starbucks and Armani (and the 
same thing has been happening steadily in the Chelsea/Flatiron district for
many years).

I'd be in favor of a permanent Bowman presence in Soho if for no other
reason than it might very well bring the property values down. (What with
the Ying Tong Iddle I Po blaring all night and day....)
