I have ideas...but we won't get into that here....
Since I'm in Germany again with the great assenting organic impulse
of electronic music,
Karlheinz Stockhausen during July and August, my sketchy and squelchy
plan may begin officially on Sept 1.
The "John Bennett Audio Poetry Project" (to be known, in short(s) as
"JOB_APP").
My thought...BUT, not yet concrete...is to start accepting audio
works to be compiled on an audio CD.
The pieces will be using John Bennett's bendy-dictions as a starting
point.
Haven't decided on how many yet - probably 50 discs - each disc
artwork and cover unique, but if we do this many,
then I probably better take everyone's submission and turn them into
high quality MP3s so that all can have
a chance to stretch out - otherwise you'll only have about 90 seconds
to strut yer stuff (90 seconds X 50 folks = 75 minutes).
AND we know that time and time again, anything worth taking the time
will take time,
so maybe we can limit everyone (sorry) to 15 minutes max(?)
Anyway, I can't do anything until Sept! - so, it gives all of you
time to think about yer JOB_APP.
Probably, Sept 1 I'll announce officially (rules, address to send, etc)
with reminders and updates on Oct 1, Nov 1, and Dec. 1,
with all CDs, cassettes, emailed Mp3s, etc on my desk by 2006.
I work on compiling, art work, etc and try to send them out Feb 1.
This is the rough-edged plan, but I'll "officially" announce around
Sept 1
and we can get on with it. I'm good at follow-thru (almost
compulsively so),
so this shouldn't end up like the Fluxlist Box 2.
All of this, of course, under the hawkishly watchful eye and OK of JB
and his Allstars Poetry Crack Team,
if he's willing to sit back and allow the minions to tear his work to
shreds.
but, AGAIN, not until around Sept 1 when I should make the announcement
(or if someone else is ready and waldo to take it on earlier...)
