Hi Jamie,
Once you've downloaded the install file you can either install the new
FME over the old version or into a separate folder.

I'd usually recommend different folders - one for an 'official' release
and one for the latest beta version.
The only thing to be wary of is if you call FME from the command line -
check the build number in the log to ensure you are using the version
you are expecting.
