Hi - the .fmelic extension is for fixed licenses whereas you are using a floating license. You don't need to worry about that type of file.
The license file for a floating license can be called anything you like - we used to name them fme_license.dat but we changed them to safe.lic recently because there is also a local file called fme_license.dat and we didn't want people to be confused. Anyway, your problem appears to be an old version of Flexlm - you need to have at least v8 - you can download v8.3 from our ftp site at ftp://ftp.safe.com/fme/floatingLicense/ Hope this helps Mark Mark Ireland, Product Support Engineer Safe Software Inc.
