Hello,

The new version of FLEXlm is backwards-compatible with FME, so FLEXlm version 8
will work just fine with FME 2002 and FME 2005. You can install both FME 2002
and 2005 on the same machine (in different directories), and have them hit the
same license server (with FLEXlm 8.3 installed).

I hope this is of help,

Ryan Cragg

Is possible to take 2 services at the server where is the hardware key, one
pointing at the old version and another one pointing at the new version, both
with the same license file?

The idea is to continue working with the old version, Fme2002, while we
evaluated the new version Fme2005.

Thanks in advance.

Hi - the .fmelic extension is for fixed licenses whereas you are using a
floating license. You don't need to worry about that type of file.

The license file for a floating license can be called anything you like - we
used to name them fme_license.dat but we changed them to safe.lic recently
because there is also a local file called fme_license.dat and we didn't want
people to be confused.

Anyway, your problem appears to be an old version of Flexlm - you need to have
at least v8 - you can download v8.3 from our ftp site at
ftp://ftp.safe.com/fme/floatingLicense/

Hope this helps
