Hello, I'm just starting to use Oracle Locator for storing some Autodesk data (via Munsys). I'd like to eventually make this data available to MapInfo users too. Does anyone know the schema that MapInfo uses to store text features from an Oracle table (if they even support this)? I think that I'm probably going to have to use views to provide the non-text AutoCAD layers to the MapInfo users, and re-write the AutoCAD text data into separate tables for MapInfo on a scheduled basis with FME.
It looks like I have some challenges ahead of me getting the various applications to be able to read each others data. Text features especially. I've looked at the interoperability toolkit that MapInfo released a couple years ago (it looks like Autodesk never released theirs) and it appears to involve a considerable amount of work and per-dataset customisation. Jason P.S. Has everyone seen Safe's new movie? It's pretty cool, basically says all the things we know to be true about FME in a way that managers can understand. http://www.safe.com/products/fme/movie/index.php <http://www.safe.com/products/fme/movie/index.php> -- Jason Birch Information Technology Office, City of Nanaimo 238 Franklyn St., Nanaimo, BC, Canada, V9R 2X4 Phone: 250-755-4460/250 Fax: 250-755-4478 Get the maximum benefit from your FME, FME Objects, or SpatialDirect via our Professional Services team.
