Please try this with FME 2006 or a recent beta, I believe its fixed.

As an aside, we've done a bunch of work in FME 2006 GB betas to make the
StringReplacer far easier to use in that no tricky escaping will be
needed moving forward (and we've been careful to make sure that old
instances with their various escapes will still work as they did).  So
I'd advise trying exactly the substitutions below with an FME 2006 GB
beta and the StringReplacer (with regular expressions OFF), it should
work fine.  If troubles persist, please follow up with [EMAIL PROTECTED]
