I'm trying to connect to a SQL Server database via the ODBC 3.x in
Workbench. When FME attempts to get the list of tables in the
database an error dialog box is displayed headed 'No tables were
found.' Each table in the schema is then listed with the text -
'No schema could be retrieved for table XXX'.
'Database Reader: Table XXX could not be opened for reading'
The ODBC connection is set up as a System DSN and tests
successfully.
If I use ODBC 2.x with the same DSN everything works fine, i.e. data
can be read out of the SQL database. However, the ODBC 2.x feature
type only allows reading from SQL, not writing to it. Is the 3.x
error a problem with the permissions of the user account in the SQL
Server database? If so, what permissions are required? Are there any
other ways to connect to a SQL Server database (for reading and
writing)?
I'm using FME 2005 Oracle Suite.
Regards,
Keith
