Hi Jim,

There are a few ways of dealing with this, none of which I've tried with KML.
What I would suggest that you look at first is the Batch Deploy option under
the file menu. Basically, you can set up a translation for a single source
dataset, and then apply it to multiple inputs.

There is some documentation available in the FME help file as well as more
in-depth info online:

Subject: [fme] New to FME

I am evaluating FME 2006 and haven't been able to crack what I thought
would be a simple task. Is there an easy way to convert shape files
to kml while preserving the base filename (blah.shp to blah.kml)?
Each shapefile is placed in its own subdirectory, and I would like to
write the destination kml file to the same dir as the source.

Thanks in advance,
Jim Clingensmith
