Hi Heinz (and other FMEers) The first of these can be resolved using a python script. There's an fmepedia example at... http://www.fmepedia.com/index.php/Layer_Summary
I won't even pretend I understand how it works (I didn't write it) - but it somehow reads the schema and passes the layer names to the FME pipeline to check if data exists. An advanced method and I'd recommend having the latest 2007 beta if you wish to try it. On the second question, I'm told... "I don't think that #2 is possible, since we don't deal with viewports or window boundaries at all." Hope this helps Mark Mark Ireland, Senior Product Specialist Safe Software Inc.
