Ah, I think I was working with old information (didn't you post about having problems with dates?) when I decided not to just pipe them through. It was already 2am :) I agree that Feedvalidator is awesome.
The thing that drives me nuts is that GeoRSS doesn't support multi-geometries (aggregates). The lack of aggregate support means that I can't properly represent my parcel layer. It's especially frustrating because GeoRSS uses GML but has constrained it artificially. I've also been playing around with Yahoo Pipes a bit. It's supposed to be able to extract locations from straight RSS feeds by parsing the feed, but it doesn't exactly do a great job. It just does string matching looking for an address. And it isn't outputting "real" GeoRSS yet. Heh. I should ask if you guys are considering Google Base as an input/output format; it allows you to store location. Hi Jason, I see you mention working on dates. I did create custom transformers to create dates in specific Georss formats (rfc822 or whatever it's called was one of them) but didn't need to use them because FME was very good about converting my dates to the correct format. Still, if you think they'd be of use, let me know. If I haven't mentioned it before, http://feedvalidator.org/ is a great web site for sorting out the fine points of a georss feed. You're right. Frighteningly easy. Then you add the workspace to a Spatial ETL server, connect to it via Google Earth, and wooooooh... watch that data flow.
