Hi there, I don't think FME works with MicroStation's 3d architectural elements such as solids, since I can't see an FME geometry that it would correspond with. The best that would happen is that they are reduced to the simple linework you're talking about. With the new rich geometry model anything is possible, so I'll ask for some proper support for solids and we'll see what happens. You could help by sending your file to [EMAIL PROTECTED] so we have a good example dataset (and so we can all see what your dream shop looks like!)
Having said this, I see that the AutoCAD reader/writer does support an element type called solid. So what you might be able to do is manually force your line components into autocad solids by changing the autocad_entity attribute. Unfortunately I'm not much of an AutoCAD expert either - anyone out there more familiar with AutoCad - or has used the solid entity type with the DWG writer?
