Alfred, Did you ever get the solution for this issue? Were you able to read the attributes using ArcSDE reader? I am running into similar situation and need the annotation attributes like orientation and text_string but I do not have the GeoDatabase Reader working so need to get this info from ArcSDE Reader if possible.
