Hey Mark,
Thanks very much for your response, I will jump in and try out both
suggestions.

One of the main issues however is that for this particular list it
is possible that of the 5 possible list values, sometimes I could
only have 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 values.

The example I posted above refers to data collected about one
particular bus stop.
And, the schedule adherence for that stop was:
78% of the time the bus left 'OnTime'
9% of the time the bus 'LeaveEarly'
7% of the time the bus 'LeaveVeryLate'
3% of the time the bus 'LeaveLate'
1% of the time the bus 'LeaveVeryEarly'

However, it is possible that another stop could be:

99% of the time the bus left 'OnTime'
1% of the time the bus 'LeaveVeryEarly'

So in this example (bus stop), I'd only have 2 list values -
therefore my _DEP_histogram{1}.value would be 'LeaveVeryEarly', but
in my first example above, my _DEP_histogram{1}.value could
be 'LeaveEarly' - depending on what values are listed in my source.

So, I don't think the manual "expose an attribute then use attribute
creator" will work for me in this instance, because I can't always
guarantee that _DEP_histogram{0}.value will be called OnTime?....Can
I?? Perhaps the FMEFunctionCaller suggestion will do the trick.

Steve
