I don’t want to create the table first and then import the data into the new table. I want to create the table directly in my existing FMP 9 database. The columns headings are the field names.

(I actually have 5 Excel spreadsheets I want to convert directly.)

Drag the spreadsheet icon onto the FileMaker Pro program icon. FileMaker will recognize the file format and ask if you want the 1st row of the incoming spreadsheet to be treated as data or field names. Choose the obvious and click OK. Away you go.
