The ideal candidate should possess: Minimum of a M.S. in Geosciences or Engineering 5-10 years experience in an Exploration and Production Company Expertise utilizing GEOLOG 6 is requested, but not mandatory. Excellent skills in Petrophysics and Quantitative interpretation as well as strong data processing skills. Good knowledge of Operations/Subsurface, Modelling, Reserves estimation, Reservoir geology, Reservoir Engineering, as well as issues regarding Safety, Environment, and Budget management. Knowledge in the area of Log acquisition, Structural and sedimentary geology, and Staff management. Will require excellent communication skills to relay knowledge, learnings and results to various teams and interface with technical specialists from Headquarters. Work is based in the Houston office on Gessner with visits as required to contractors. Duties Include: Responsible for the performance of consistent, high quality log interpretation and validation for the subsidiary. Candidate will work with the Engineers for evaluation of logs and assisting in supplying logs for model construction. Candidate will liaise with the Operations Geologist assisting in evaluation program and clarification, as needed. The work areas will be in Alaska, GoM Onshore and GoM Shelf and Deepwater. Conduct, upon occasion, expert appraisals at the request of operating entities, or study managers. Raise technical issues and provide appropriate solutions. Conduct studies with high technical content, and ensure their quality Select and supervise contractors. Ensure the suitability of personnel, equipment and services to the requirements of studies or operating entities. Help operating entities find solutions to uncommon obstacles. Conduct technical audits on entities or projects and recommend actions to optimize performance.
