Cynthia-

If Norton does not auto-detect all your E-mail clients, and configure
them, you can manually configure the E-mail client (in your case
Outlook). This involves enabling manual configuration in Norton AV (in the
Options menu, under E-mail Protection), and then modifying the User name
and POP3 serve info in the E-mail program you're adding protection for. I
don't think there's any limit on how many mail accounts or programs you can
set up -- the most I've tried is 5, I think.

The exact settings are different for different versions of NAV, but I've
found the program Help pretty clear on this. For instance, my Midmaine
address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] Using Eudora and Norton 2001, I checked
"enable manual configuration" under NAV's Options > E-mail Protection >
Advanced. Then in Eudora I set the incoming mail server as
"pop3.norton.antivirus," and my user name as
"jfalk/pop.midmaine.com." This routes all incoming mail through NAV's
proxy server, where it is scanned.

Good luck,

Jon
