I thought folks might be interested in the following, which is forwarded
from the national Circuit Rider list. It looks like "PageTool" might take
a little while and some technical expertise to set up, but then it might
make it easier for non-techies to make routine Web page updates.

>Hi everyone - At last, Pagetool version 1 has been released!

>Media Jumpstart has been working on this project for the last year (we took
>it to Sourceforge last May at which point two other developers joined the
>project). Now, after 12 months of hard work, we have finally released a
>stable version for general consumption.

>Pagetool is an open source program that allows people with limited
>technical skills to modify and contribute to an organization's web site via
>a web browser. There is no need for using an FTP program or for purchasing
>html editing programs like Dream Weaver or Go Live!. Furthermore, for basic
>site maintenance, no knowledge of HTML is necessary.
>
>It was specifically designed to help nonprofit organizations with small to
>medium sized web site and limited technical expertise.
>
>How Does it Work?
>
>Pagetool stores all web pages in a database. To the average web user, it
>looks and acts like a typical web site. However, it you go to the special
>admin section and enter the correct username and password, you will be able
>to see a list of web pages on your site. By selecting a web page and
>clicking "edit" you will be able to change the content of that particular
>page.
