Fred Langa, who writes some very useful stuff on computer care and feeding,
has put together a comprehensive article on his approach to making
backups. You may not want to adopt all of his methods (he does a
combination of Drive images to CD-R, and semi-automated daily data backups
to CD-R), but there's a lot to learn from reading this piece. Remember,
with good backups, nothing that can happen to your computers is a real
disaster.
There are several ways to read this material:
(1) On the Web, at <http://www.langa.com/backups/backups.htm>; or
(2) Download as either plain text or a Windows Help file, at
<http://www.langa.com/backups/backups(13).htm>.
