Symantec is now making many of its products available for donation to
non-profits through Gifts in Kind, *without* requiring that the recipient
organizations join Gifts in Kind. This is different than the situation
last fall, when the deal was that you needed to pay a $120 annual fee to
Gifts in Kind to be eligible for the donations. At that time, I suggested
that we might get donations through Helpnet, and distribute them to Helpnet
members. With this new, direct donation arrangement, I think it will make
more sense for members to apply for their own donations.

There is a $25 handling fee to get a copy of the programs on CD, and a $15
for additional license packages. For instance, the cost to get multiple
licenses for Norton Antivirus 2002 would be $25 for a copy of the program,
and $15 for either a 10-user or 25-user license pack. Total cost $40 - or
$1.60/computer if you've got 25 computers.
