Yup. Just go the monitors control panel to identify which monitor is which and where you want one positioned in terms of the other and you're good to go.

Jim,
Good to hear from you!
What we want to do is have the computer and an projector. Would this have the same directions? Dick's Power Squadron materials come on a disk for the instructors. They just slide it in and it projects the audience images on the screen and the computer monitor has the cheat notes on it.
He quickly showed me the other day on his PC that the program to set it up is under Slide Show menu and Slide Show set up. Now I am trying to help a friend with a Mac to do this. Dick is away on a trip so I appreciate your help.
Do your instructions work for the "second monitor" being the projector? I know all he takes to class is his laptop and the projector.
Thanks for the help.

Sally,

You need to have a Mac that supports two different images on the two screens. Assuming you have that, here's the directions form PowerPoint help:

"Set up a slide show to run on a second monitor
Important You must have dual-monitor hardware in order to use this procedure, and your monitors must be configured for extended desktop or video mirroring. For more information for about enabling multiple monitor support, see Mac OS Help.
Use this procedure to run a slide show on the full screen of a secondary monitor while you view the presentation in normal view on the primary monitor. This lets you see your outline and notes along with the slides, while your audience sees only the slides.
1. On the Slide Show menu, click Set Up Show.
2. In the Set Up Show dialog box, click Screen, and then click the monitor you want the slide show to appear on."

Good luck,

Jim Campbell

Hi All,
I have a PowerPoint question. When making up a slide-show I want to have the script show on the computer screen but not on the projected image. I also want to be able to see the preceding slide and succeeding slide. I believe it is in the slide show set-up. Can somebody walk me through getting to the place in PowerPoint where one can set that up for the slide show? What edition of PowerPoint started to have this feature? Does this work on a MAC?

Subject: [folkschool-list] MS Publisher

Hi All,
We have received as an attachment to an e-mail two posters done in MS Publisher 2000 Version 6.0. When we try to open them we get an error message that says we cannot open it as it is a different version. I have double checked and noted that we have the same version but still can't seem to get them to open. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ellen
